Edward Thomas Arnold, 1944-2010

EDWARD T. SR., March 27, 2010. Loving and devoted husband of Mary (nee Graessle). Loving father of Michele (Michael) Molinari, Edward Jr. (Colleen), Tim (Daria), Brian (Joanne) and Mary (Dan) Oldfield and loving pop pop of 12 grandchildren. dear brother of Irene McGrath and the late David Zicardi.

I couldn't have asked for a better father.  From him I learned how to be strong, how to be funny, how to believe in myself, and most importantly, how to love.  No father can do more for a son than that.  I never doubted for one second that I was loved by him.  I knew I would never be alone and always had someone on my side because of him.  From the amazing love he and my mother shared, sprang a family I am honored to be a part of.

It is from him that I learned how to be a loving husband and father.  I know I haven't measured up, but to my beautiful wife Joanne and our adorable children Megan and Brian, thank you for the opportunity to try.

To all the family and friends that have rallied around us at this difficult time, thank you very much.  Your love and support won't be forgotten.

Finally, to my father himself, thank you for absolutely everything.

I love you, Dad.

So sorry for the loss of your Father. I lost my own father unexpectedly 7 years ago now, so I can empathize with your loss. You wrote such a loving tribute, and from that, it is apparent what a blessing he was to you and family! My thoughts are with you all!

Brian, I suspect your father thought and the rest of your family think you measure up in every way (except perhaps for enthusiasm for home improvement projects)...may you all remember him with ever greater fondness and decreasing pain at his loss.

I'm terribly sorry, and such former colleagues of yours at a certain publishing concern, including Gayle Puller and April Landrum, have asked that I pass along their condolences as well.

That is a great remembrance, and it's clear that he left an impressive legacy.

Take care.

A very moving tribute to your father. Sounds like you're the kind of son he would be very proud of.

My father-in-law was an amzing man who loved his family. His greatest accomplishments are his 5 children. I am so proud to call Michele, Ed, Tim, and Mary my brothers and sisters. My husband Brian is the wonderful, loving and compassioate man that he is because of who their mom is and their dad was. I am truly blessed to have married into a family that was headed by such an amazing couple.
