Tuesday's Forgotten TV Movie: Dr. Strange
This week's offering is yet another selection I haven't seen for myself. Dr. Strange was a made-for-TV movie that aired on CBS in 1978, and was intended as a pilot for a weekly series, much the same way The Incredible Hulk TV series came to be. Obviously this one didn't work out. Was it because of the quality (or lack thereof) of the movie itself? Let's find out together. Enjoy!

I remember trying to watch this when in college during a SyFy Channel Marathon of Hero movies. It was painful and I eventually fell asleep during the thing. Beyond bad in many ways. Was a creature of the period, with the 70's music and the gruff dialogue that felt heavy and cheesy at the same time. Still, back then they had less to work with in terms of effects and some of our modern movies are not as good as this one.
Great choice for a post.
Much can be said of the Captain America TV version, or even the Spider-Man live action series. Cheesy, but fun in their own way.
Did you give it a spin yet?
Todd: No, unfortunately. I'll need to clone myself Multiplicity style to see all the stuff I've been meaning to lately. I'm looking forward to this though!
Hello,
I'm glad you chose to use my youtube vid-clips for your post.
And while the film IS cheesy, I think it is good cheese.
One of those, "So bad, it's good!" type of things.
If you are interested, I wrote a long and thoroughly detailed review of the film, its swag and other related ephemera in a series of blog posts (my blog deals primarily with all things "Doctor Strange").

Bad movies can be good.
And many good ideas have been turned into bad movies.
The trick is to see the good idea at its heart.
